How easy is BBX to install?
BBX block system is designed to be installed quicker and easier than any other block system on the market.
Do I need specialist installers to lay BBX Blocks?
Due to the unique design of the system and using the correct tooling anyone soon becomes confident to install this system, please see technical brochure.
What blast rating does BBX have?
100mm block: C25 & EXV19 (19 metre stand-off)
215mm block: C15 & EXV12 (12 metre stand-off)
What fire rating does BBX have?
BBX demonstrates fire resistance of 132min/100mm without failure. The test took place at Cambridge Fire Research in accordance with BS EN 1364-1: 2915
Does BBX offer protection against Blast and Ballistic together?
Yes. The BBX system can offer multi-threat protection. For example, a standard 215mm BBX system provides C15 Blast protection and BR7 Ballistic protection.

How are BBX Blocks laid?
BBX blocks are bonded together using Thin Joint Mortar, blocks should be laid using a half lap stretcher bond. Use mortar sledges and mortar scoops to apply the thin joint mortar, this will assist in applying the correct mortar tolerances. Please see our technical brochure.
Do I need specialist equipment to use BBX Blocks?
Electric Table Saw
Mortar Sledges are used for applying thin joint mortar to the beds of the BBX blocks.
Mortar Scoops used to apply thin joint mortar to the side elevations of the BBX blocks.
Mixer required for mixing the thin joint mortar.
